There are a great variety of activities in this area.  Festivals take place throughout the year, such as Fete de Gallette in Pipriac (Sept). Festival of the Marron (Chestnuts) in Redon usually in Oct, Medieval festivals and many others. 
Canoes and Kayaks

These can be hired for one hour, half day or full day from Heyoka, Au Pont Saint Boeures, Messac. You can enjoy the beautiful wooded landscape of the Corbinieres and the viaduct over the river.  There are picnic places on route or moor-up by one the creperies or restaurants by the river.

Fishing

A rod license is necessary to fish on the public lakes and rivers in France. The license is obtained from the local fishing tackle shop and some agricultural outlets and can be for short holiday periods. A day ticket for private parish owned lakes and rivers can be obtained from the local bar tabac.  There are also some private lakes nearby including a large carp lake with fish over 40lbs in weight being caught. Boating

Motor cruisers and small craft can be hired from the marina at Messac on the river Vilaine.  Companies such as Crown Blue Line operate from here.  Alternatively you may prefer to bring your own boat over for use during your holiday. There are slipways by the quay at Besle and Port de Roche. The river is navigable down to the barrage d'Arzal just south of La Roche Bernard and the lock gives access to the open sea.

Go-karting

Circuit de Karting le Latay, Plesse, Between Guememe and Blain near the Foret du Gavre.  Open all year round. Mini karts available from 7 years old and for all the family.

McDonald's Kids missing their usual take-away. Treat them to a McDonalds meal situated on the outskirts of Redon on the D177, turn off at second roundabout.

Swimming

There is an excellent indoor swimming pool in Redon.  It has flumes for the children and spas for the parents, so you can relax while the kids have fun. Also near Redon is the Etang Aumee. This lake has a small sandy beach with a safe cordoned off swimming area suitable for small children. There are picnic tables and an outdoor play area as well. Ample free parking under the trees.  

Horse Riding

Pony Club and stables at La Buntais, Langon.
Situated within easy reach just over the hill.
